Players Pack & Added Cash Announced

Ledgestone TD Nate Heinold is excited to finally announce the 2021 Ledgestone player’s pack, along with this year’s added cash. The tournament is also happy to announce that DGA has come on board as a major sponsor and the event will be releasing limited edition DGA molds through the Ledgestone vending program. This is the 12th and final announcement in our Twelve Days of Ledgestone promotion. This year the tournament will add a Ledgestone record $70,000 of added cash while providing an insane player’s pack to amateur players. The tournament also plans on giving a record donation to St Jude, which would surpass 2020’s $60,000 donation.

So what exactly will Amateur players be looking at in their players pack? “The success of our relationship with GRIPeq in 2020 led us to try to make another bag work for 2021. However, in light of the fact that some people may not want a bag for a second straight year, we decided we would give players the option: a custom fabric color GRIPeq BX bag, or a special Compact Zuca Cart,” said Heinold. The Ledgestone team did extensive research after the 2020 event on what exactly amateur players wanted to see in their player packs, and that research helped mold the plans for 2021. “The investment we are making in both Zuca and GRIPeq, and the investment they are making in this event, is beyond insane. Logistically this will be the most challenging Ledgestone we have ever run. At the same time, we couldn’t be more excited for next year’s event!” exclaimed Heinold. Players will get to choose during the registration process if they want a bag or a cart. “Players have asked us for options in their player packs for years. While we have always found that thought daunting, after discussing things with our operations team we realized that we could make it work,” said Heinold.

Here is this year’s players pack that all Amateur and Junior players will receive:

  • GRIPeq limited custom fabric color BX2 bag or Zuca Compact Cart
  • Grip6 Custom belt
  • Custom Tournament stool
  • Custom stamped Tempercraft 22 oz Water Bottle
  • Special Tournament Shirt from Paragon
  • Tube of Zanfel Poison Ivy Product
  • Zuca 10% off coupon
  • 3 Discraft Limited Edition discs
  • 1 DGA Limited Edition disc
  • Special hat
  • Player’s Pass for free spectating admission to Eureka and Sunset
  • Two free meals at the event
  • And more!

All players will be receiving additional coupons in their players packs, as well as other items. In addition, all players will receive two free meals (Friday and Saturday nights) and free ice cream on Wednesday night. Players will also receive a player’s pass that will allow free admission at Eureka and Sunset, while Northwood will be limited to VIP and parking pass holders. For those that cannot attend the event but want to purchase a player’s pack, the tournament is offering that chance. A limited number of these packs will be available and the packs will come with the BX2 bag (there won’t be a choice between the cart and the bag in this option). The packs can be purchased here.

The BX2 bag that players will be getting will be a special, limited edition custom fabric color bag, with more details to come soon. “We don’t want to spoil all of the details, but the bag will not be your ordinary BX2 bag. Those details are being worked out as we speak. We have been working on designs for 8 weeks and have nearly finished the process,” said Heinold. Likewise with the Compact Carts, the Ledgestone team is working on something with Zuca that will make those items unique. Up for consideration at the moment is a custom frame color and/or a custom wheel color. Additionally, VIP’s will be receiving a G Series bag in their spectator packs. The G Series bag is a wonderful starter bag that still has the same quality that people have come to expect from GRIPeq’s other bags. This G Series bag will also have a special, limited Ledgestone fabric color and design. The spectator pack will include a Limited Edition disc, a tournament shirt, the G Series bag, free parking for the full week of the event and more! Registration for spectator packs opens on 1/1/2021 at 6PM CST. If you cannot play in the event, this is your best bet to watch the event!

"Disc Golf Carts for a Better Game" has been ZUCA Inc's mission and focus since the beginning. ZUCA has established itself as the industry leading disc golf cart brand, and with multiple versions of the product, there is a cart for everyone. Understanding that ZUCA is one small piece of the puzzle, CEO Bruce Kinnee says, "It's important to us to support our partners such as Ledgestone, the Disc Golf Pro Tour, The Professional Disc Golf Association and many others who are working hard to move the sport forward." ZUCA is proud to partner with Ledgestone in 2021 as a Major Sponsor. Learn more at www.zuca.com

Disc Golf Association (DGA) is both the leading manufacturer of disc golf course equipment and the sports founding company. Since 1976 DGA has worked both in the forefront and behind the scenes to sow the seeds for disc golf. DGA was established by Ed Headrick (the inventor of the modern day Frisbee and the father of disc golf) in order to introduce people to the sport he founded and to help people get disc golf courses and programs into their local parks, schools, and camps. Ed Headrick coined and trademarked the term “Disc Golf” when formalizing the sport and invented the first disc golf target, the Disc Pole Hole. For more information please visit www.discgolf.com

As for the pros, this year will see a record amount of added cash. The 2020 event featured approximately $45,000 of added cash, while the 2021 event will see a Ledgestone record $70,000 added to the pro purse. This tops the previous record set in 2015 during the Ledgestone NT event, when $65,000 of added cash was added to the purse. Ledgestone attributes this increase to the partnership it has formed over the last 6 years with Discraft. “Discraft goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need to run a successful event. This increase of added cash is directly attributable to the success of our 2020 event and our Ledgestone pro shop. Without Discraft providing us great and unique products to sell, we wouldn’t be able to continue to make these investments in the event,” said Heinold. The Ledgestone retail website launched in January 2020 and quickly allowed the tournament a better way to market Ledgestone and raise funds for the event. Proceeds from sales from the website directly help the Ledgestone event continue to improve and get better. “Without the success of the website, we wouldn’t be making deals with GRIPeq and Zuca to provide this kind of player’s pack. We sincerely appreciate all of the support that everyone has given us,” said Heinold.
