Who shot the hot round: Once again, Paige Pierce led the way. The Team Discraft pro shot a 996-rated seven-under-par round of 54 Friday morning at Sunset Hills DGC in Pekin to establish a seven-stroke lead over the field heading into Round 3.
Pierce on her round: “Pretty good considering it was a little windy out here today. I like to shoot around a 10 (down) on this course, but I had two OBs on birdie holes (Hole 4 and 11, her lone bogeys of the day).

Game-changing moment: Pierce parked her drive just above the basket and hit the follow-up putt on the water-lined Hole 12 (Par 3, 312’) to hold off her charging cardmates Sarah Hokom and Hailey King. That deuce was the first of three in a row for Pierce - who finished strong with birdies on five of the last seven holes.
Standout Stat: King, Macie Walker (t-6th, E), and Ella Hansen (t-25th, +11) all earned their wings with eagles on Hole 6 (Par 5, 712’).
Let’s get it started: Missy Gannon started her day in style on the chase card with a 50-foot birdie putt that she called “a good momentum builder.” That putt helped set the stage for her -6 round, the second best round of the day.

Moving on up: Alexis Mandujano (t-9th, +1) tied for the third best round of the day with a -5 Friday at Sunset Hills. That moved her into the top 10 after starting the day in 17th place.
