Game-changing moment: The biggest moment of the day came from Calvin Heimburg on Hole 14. Heimburg entered the hole leading by three strokes, completely in control of both his round and the entire tournament. But eight throws later he left the hole in a three-way tie for first place.

A 25-minute wait before teeing may have influenced his rhythm. Heimburg’s first shot on the L-shaped, 893-foot par 5 found the rough on the right side. His pitch out attempt found more rough. Then after laying up to the corner of the ‘L’ on his third shot, Heimburg tried to attack the basket, but once again found the rough. He ultimately limped away from Hole 14 with a triple bogey and his lead gone.

Standout Stat: On a course that averaged 6 over par across round two, pars had to be earned on every hole. Northwood Black’s three par 5s ( holes 6, 12, and 14) were also three of the four most difficult holes of the day, with holes 12 and 14 averaging a whopping 1.3 strokes over par.

Highlights of the Day: Matt Bell picked up a stroke or better on the entire field, smashing an ace on the 389-foot, OB-laced Hole 8. It would help him shoot even par on the day, vaulting him up 18 spots on the leaderboard.

Anthony Barela also earned a highlight of his own, carding the only birdie of the day on the infamous Hole 12. And he made it look easy with straightforward shooting, landing in Circle 1 on his third throw and finishing off the hole with a 27 foot putt.
