Ledgestone Wave 1 Preview

Hey Ledgestone fans! The first drop of the new year is upon us.

For Wave 1 we have 15 molds available with several highlights to note from the most vibrant Discraft swirls, to first time plastic runs, to out-of-production cult favorites.

To help you sift through all the amazing options, we’ve analyzed each disc to tell you how it flies, what it looks like, and what makes it special so you can be prepared when the discs go live at www.shopledgestone.com.

Rubber Blend Zone - The Zone is Discraft’s most popular approach disc. Good for both forehands and backhands, this extremely overstable mold can handle significant torque and always provides a reliable finish to its flight, no matter the angle.
In the Rubber Blend plastic, this run of Zone is softer and grippier than the standard premium plastic. The softness allows for added flexibility and gumminess, which lends itself useful for minimizing skips on the green. It will also beat in relatively quickly, altering the flight characteristics to become a more neutral-flying version of the Zone.

White ESP Roach - The Roach is a neutral stability putter with a beadless rim known for its comfortable feel in the hand and its glide while in flight. It first appeared as the 2015 Discraft Ace Race prototype.
This run comes in slick, all-white, opaque plastic, so those concerned about color selection can rest assured. The ESP blend brings durability and a touch of overstability to the mold, while maintaining a quality, tacky grip in the hand.

CryZtal Ringer - The Ringer is a low-profile, overstable putter perfect for both putts and approaches. The thin rim makes it easy to handle and control on both forehand and backhand throws. The overstability holds true and resists turning over, fitting into Discraft’s putt and approach lineup just behind the Zone.
The CryZtal plastic makes this one of the most overstable runs of Ringers on the market. Expect it to hold its flight characteristics and consistently fade well into its life in this highly-durable blend. The CryZtal plastic also brings visual appeal to another level with its color-tinted transparency and an almost glass-like appearance.

Z Sparkle Glo Buzzz - The Buzzz is the most popular disc on the market. It’s a dependable, straight-flying midrange with a consistent fade that holds any line you put it on. The Buzzz is a go-to for players of all skill levels.
The Z Sparkle Glo plastic is what makes this particular run of the Buzzz unique. It provides the same durability and translucent appearance as Z plastic, but with added visual appeal in the sparkles. More importantly, the Z Glo gives it a touch more overstability than a standard Buzzz run, making it even more useful for holding a specific line, but still finishing strong at the tail end of the flight.

ESP Swirl Wasp - This is the disc that led to the creation of the Buzzz. Considered the Buzzz’s slightly more overstable cousin, it falls between the Buzzz and the Buzzz OS in stability. Other than the increased fade, the Wasp also sports a beaded rim, differentiating it from the feel of a standard Buzzz.
With Discraft’s top-notch swirls in a variety of opaque, coloring combinations, this run of Wasp shines in any light. In the ESP plastic, these Wasps will remain durable and consistent, but will slowly season in and fly slightly less overstable than a standard Z Wasp. The beaded rim and plastic blend combination give this run a tacky feel and comfortable grip for added throwing confidence.

Z Swirl Nebula - The Nebula was released in 2008 as Discraft’s Ace Race prototype and eventually became the predecessor to the Buzzz OS. Since then, the Nebula’s production has been discontinued at Discraft. That held true until the Ledgestone Edition Z Swirl Nebula was released as a limited run in 2021.
Now a second limited run of these Nebulas are here with a brand new Ledgestone stamp. The Z Swirl plastic adds a bit of tackiness to the slick feel of standard Z plastic while still providing the same consistent overstability that has made the Nebula a niche favorite. The translucent, colorful Z plastic, combined with Discraft’s swirls, make these the most beautiful Nebulas ever run.

ESP Swirl Tour Series Impact - The Impact is a neutral-to-stable midrange with strong glide and minimal fade. The mold’s shallow rim depth makes it controllable for all skill levels, while its consistent flight pushes forward as long as it’s in the air.
The ESP Tour Series plastic brings the same tacky grip and trusted durability of standard ESP, but with less stiffness, giving players a slight flexibility in the hand and allowing all throwers to grip with confidence. The swirls and bursting coloration in this run make them some of the most gorgeous discs on the market.

Z Swirl Heat - Originally introduced to the world during Discraft’s Ace Race in 2014, this disc went on to join Discraft’s full-time lineup as the “Heat.” The Heat is an understable fairway driver with supreme glide, a small outer rim and a domey flight plate. It is especially controllable for slower arms and brand new players and can be manipulated to fly on hyzer-flip lines as well as finesse shots and straight-line pulls.
In the Z Swirl plastic, the Heat will have a hint of added overstability with an increased tackiness in the grip. Expect this run to hold its flight characteristics well into its life. The beautiful swirls infused into the colorful and translucent Z plastic will make this run of Heat highly sought after.

Z Swirl Flash - The Flash is a versatile, forehand and backhand workhorse driver with the ability to fly multiple flight paths. It can provide hyzer-flips, turnovers, hyzers and flex shots. The constant for the Flash is its ability to provide big distance.
The Flash is no longer in production at Discraft, but is back in limited availability for this Ledgestone run. The Z Swirl plastic is colorful and swirly with a touch of translucency. It also introduces a slightly tackier grip than standard Z plastic, while maintaining the same trusted durability.

Jawbreaker Raptor - The Raptor is an overstable fairway driver capable of fighting strong winds. It has a flat flight plate and comfortable rim depth for both forehand and backhand grips.
For the first time ever, the Raptor has been released in Jawbreaker plastic. In fact, this is the first time the mold has been run in any baseline plastic. The signature speckled flecks of the Jawbreaker blend are prevalent and set this run apart visually. In the hand, the tacky feel provides the best grip of any Raptor on the market. Brand new, out of the box, these Raptors are just as overstable as premium plastic runs. As this run gets beat in, the lessened durability of the Jawbreaker plastic allows these Raptors to go straighter for longer as the overstability characteristics begin to change with more wear and tear.

Z Swirl Reaper - The Reaper is an out-of-production fairway driver with extreme overstability. Though not used for big distances, the Reaper’s predictable fade makes it perfect for accurate hyzer shots.
The Z Swirl plastic will continue to reinforce the consistent overstability of the Reaper while adding an additional tackiness for better grip. As with all Z Swirl blends, the visual appeal in this cloudy, but colorful, plastic will be off the charts.

ESP Swirl Tour Series Force - This max distance, overstable driver is built for big arms looking to throw far. The Force’s heavy overstability allows it to resist turning over, even at high speeds. Even on anhyzer angles, this disc works hard to flex out and fade at the end, maximizing flight time and distance off the tee.
The groundbreaking swirls in Discraft’s ESP Tour Series plastic are one-of-a-kind and will be shown off in this Force run, as this specific run used the same pattern as the 2022 Tour Series ESP run.. The tacky feel of ESP offers just the right amount of grip with durability to inspire confidence in the flight of the disc for years to come.

Lightweight ESP Crank - The Crank is a max distance driver with high speed turn and a predictable fade. Its stable flight allows it to push straighter for longer before the overstability kicks in at the end of the flight. The Crank is great for hyzer-flips, turnovers and long, pushing hyzer shots.
The ESP plastic promotes glide in this particular run and gives confidence to throwers with a tacky grip. The signature characteristic of this Ledgestone run of Cranks is the lightweight aspect, making them ideal for slower arm speeds looking for more distance and for bigger arms in search of long turnovers. The signature, multicolored ESP Swirls in this run are bright, beautiful and very prevalent.

Lightweight ESP Nuke OS - This extremely overstable distance driver brings heavy, consistent fade even in the wind and is being run for the first time specifically in lightweight plastic. The Nuke OS gives confidence to any thrower looking for a high-speed shot that will finish hard on all occasions. Its wide, thick rim matches the feel of a Nuke, but adds even more overstability.
This run is ideal for slower arm speeds looking for a beefy distance shot or for power throwers looking for long, distance flex shots. The opaque-colored ESP plastic brings its signature durability and tacky grip.

Z Metallic Swirl Scorch - The Scorch is an understable driver with an overstable finish. It is famous for providing signature “S” flights and can be handled by players of all skill levels. The slightly domey flight plate allows for added glide and increased distance even at slower speeds.
The metallic flakes included in the plastic of this run give off a magical shimmer within the swirling bright colors of the translucent Z plastic. The Z Metallic plastic also gives added overstability to the Scorch. Expect the same feel, gentle turn and stable flight, but with a slightly more pronounced finishing fade. This run’s stiffness in the hand adds confidence for throwers looking for consistency on each release.
