Tournament Approaches 850 Registrations

Disc Golf Festival

With less than 50 days to go until the event, the Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by Discraft is on its way to 850 registrations. "Everything is ramping up and we are preparing for 1000 players," said Tournament Director Nate Heinold. At this point in time the tournament has participants from 5 different countries and over 40 states. Last year's tournament had 694 players so this year's event has already blown past that. "A lot of people actually think the event is full, but this is 2016 and we have a lot more capacity this year. We still have plenty of spots left so tell your friends and spread the word!" The tournament will have a massive professional payout, with the total pro purse eclipsing $100,000 with nearly $55,000 of added cash. The AM player's pack will be the best in the country, with a massive value on top of the prizes the AMS receive. But the biggest difference between last year's event and this year's event is the addition of the Disc Golf Festival. "The festival is going to be a lot of fun for players, spectators, kids, and even people who know nothing of disc golf," said Heinold. Information on all of the festival games can be found at the Disc Golf Pro Tour website. This year's event begins August 18th for the professional players and August 19th for the AM players. Activities will be happening all week.
