DUDE Steps up to Help St. Jude

The moment Chris Finn saw the opportunity to help St. Jude, he jumped on it. That was a year ago at the inaugural PDGA St. Jude Charity event. This year, Finn and his Australian disc golf apparel company named DUDE again answered the call to raise money for St. Jude via the St. Jude Charity event. So it should come as no surprise that when Finn heard that the Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by Discraft was aiming to raise $30,000 for St. Jude that he again stepped up.

In an effort to help the tournament get to the $30,000 mark, tournament staff decided to offer up the final spot on the day 1 feature card. For a $400 donation to St. Jude, one lucky (and charitable) player would get the opportunity of a lifetime; a round with Paul McBeth, Nate Doss and Cale Leiviska. Not only is the round with some of the world's best, but it is going to be braodcast live via SmashboxxTV and recorded for post round coverage as well.

As soon as Chris Finn heard about this opportunity to round out the feature card and that it was to raise money for St. Jude, he, like he always has, stepped to the plate. "I'd like to wear a different DUDE shirt on every hole and then auction them off with the proceeds going to St. Jude," said Finn. On behalf of the Ledgestone staff, the sport of disc golf and St. Jude, we say THANK YOU.

Shirts worn on even holes will be used in our silent auction on site (Sunday at Lake Eureka) and those worn on odd holes will be auctioned off online with more details to come. Keep an eye on the Ledgestone Insurance Open Facebook page for more details.
