Tied 3rd - Sarah Hokom at 11-under par

Who shot the hot round in Round 3 of the 2022 Ledgestone Open in FPO?

Paige Pierce shot the hot score in Round 3 with a 7-under-par.

Quote from the leader: “It was a worse score, but it felt better," Pierce said. "I only had one bogey and the wind was super present today. I told myself tee shots were going to be really big here, so I could decide if I wanted to lay up or tap in a birdie. It felt hard but I accomplished what I needed to do to get to Northwood."

"Missy and I will have a little shoot off. I feel like we can keep the gas on and collect birdies out there. It's going to set up for a cool battle."

Game-changing moment: Paige Pierce entered hole 16 trailing by two strokes to Missy Gannon. Both players landed in Circle 2 off the tee, but Gannon elected to lay up with the wind swirling and a treacherous hill directly behind the basket. Seeing an opening, Pierce stepped up and canned her 40-footer. Her body language visibly changed as the momentum swung in her favor. One hole later, after a bogey by Gannon, the two were deadlocked at the top of the leaderboard.

Pierce shares a smile and a fist bump with her caddy after canning a Circle 2 putt on hole 16 to climb within one stroke of the lead.

Standout Stat: The wind was clearly a factor in Round 3. After the course averaged 0.4-under par in Round 2, the wind was the prime culprit in raising that average an entire stroke to 0.4-over par.

Highlight of the Day: Hole 6 delivered another highlight. This time Paige Pierce stole the show with an eagle. She crushed a drive on the 712-foot par 5 and ripped a powerful upshot into the green to give herself a look for eagle from Circle 2. She stepped up and cashed the 38-foot putt to continue a stretch of five holes where she went 6-under par and rocketed up the leaderboard to challenge Missy Gannon.
