Ledgestone TD Nate Heinold is announcing today that Merrell has officially agreed to be the Presenting Sponsor for the 2023 Ledgestone event. In addition, Merrell will become a major sponsor of the DGLO and Champions Cup events. The event is also happy to release the 2023 Ledgestone event logo. This announcement is the 11th and penultimate announcement in our series of announcements titled the Twelve Days of Ledgestone. Merrell has long been a target of Ledgestone TD. “I first contacted Merrell back in 2015 and have been engaged with them off and on for many years. It is incredibly satisfying to get a deal inked and to help introduce Merrell into the sport of disc golf. I have used Merrell shoes my entire disc golf career and have hiked in ten different national parks with Merrell shoes, so I really believe in the product.” stated Heinold. Merrell dipped their toes in the disc golf water for the first time in 2022 by being a sponsor at Ledgestone and DGLO and is choosing to engage in a larger way in 2023.
For over 40 years, Merrell has been the global leader in outdoor active footwear with a focus on merging performance, styling, and comfort to empower all people to confidently explore the outdoors. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Ledgestone to bring our outdoor heritage to disc golf. Through the deal Merrell will be involved on the ground level at the events, with plans to have a physical presence at each event showcasing their product. Merrell will also get DGN advertising spots through the sponsorship arrangement, while Merrell will also be the “Official Shoe of the Ledgestone brand”, with all staff members being provided with Merrell Shoes at the event. Merrell will also be sponsoring a “Fastest Throw Tent” at each event, where players and spectators will have the ability to see how fast they can throw and win prizes.
Additionally, players and spectators at all Ledgestone events will receive Merrell Shoe discount codes that can be used to purchase Merrell shoes at the company’s website. The event’s St Jude charity raffle will also see a few pairs of Merrell shoes being given away. “It is incredibly important for outside companies to get involved in the sport of disc golf, and for our players and fans to support those outside companies. We want to continue to see growth in our sport, and this deal with Merrell is another step forward with getting disc golf more into the mainstream,” finished Heinold.
